Ready When You Are Mr. McGill
Ever been on a film set? The elderly Mr. McGill has. As an extra, and he's doing his best. Alas, his best is only enough for causing chaos and to drive the director mad. The director, Phil Parish, is played by Bill Nighy close to a nervous breakdown. The extra McGill, passing hooligans, passing planes, fish instead of steak - Making a film isn't easy.
Excerpts from reviews:
... The director, an incandescent performance from Bill Nighy, escalates smoothly from simple hysteria to fluent profanity. He is frustrated at every turn by life in general and people in particular....
THE GUARDIAN, 27-12-2005
Bill Nighy
is excellent as the director, an increasingly demented bundle of worry, paranoia
and ego. A man who keeps thinking his day can't get any worse. And then it does.
(...) Worth watching for Bill Nighy alone...
