24-08-2008 Rectification to another source: Online gossip magazines today reported the split-up of Bill Nighy and Diana Quick as news. However the statement of them was misquoted. The correct wording of the official statement is:

- Bill's first convention ever was San Diego's Comic-Con, July 24-26th. Given, he didn't fight any aliens to save some other aliens, but he promoted the upcoming release of ''Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans'', together with director Patrick Tatopoulos and stars Rhona Mitra, and Kevin Grevioux. Are you located in or near Dorset, England?  Here's your chance to appear in one of Bill's films. As the Dorset Daily Echo reports today, there'll be an open casting for extras in Richard Curtis' ''The Boat That Rocked'' on Saturday April 12 and Sunday April 13 in Weymouth where producers will chose a number of extras. The casting session will run from 10am to 5pm at the Hotel Prince Regent, on The Esplanade, Weymouth.

15-12-2007 United Artists' film ''Valkyrie'' has been postponed to October 3rd, 2008, due to the release of another title by the same company.

 

14-12-2007 Bill Nighy and Richard Curtis working together again. As it's now officially confirmed, Bill will be in Richard Curtis' new film ''The Boat That Rocked''. The Working Title production will be a comedy about an illegal radio station in the North Sea in the 1960's. With the filming starting in March 2008 the release is estimated for 2009.

 

22-11-2007 2009 will see the release of the new Disney / Bruckheimer cooperation ''G-Force''. It will be a live action / CGI film about a group of ultra-intelligent animal commandoes who work for a government agency trying to prevent an evil billionaire from taking over the world. Bill Nighy this time will be not on the CG but on the live action side, playing a sinister industrial, as confirmed today. Along with Bill stars like Nicholas Cage, Steve Buscemi or Tracy Morgan will be lending their voices or full bodies to the story.

15-10-2007 Tomorrow in London:
''Coping Strategies'' - a 26-minute film, which premieres at the Riverside Studios, West London on 16th October . Produced with the help of an Awards for All National Lottery Grant, the film tells the story of Shahid, a young man with learning disabilities, who breaks free for a new life of romance, independence and indulgence. ''Coping Strategies'' is a surreal black comedy, produced by Yarrow's Moment by Moment Theatre Company.

The film stars Yarrow service users, staff, and supporters, and features a guest appearance by Bill Nighy. Playing a social worker Bill Nighy said: "Because everyone is on an equal footing in the Moment by Moment Theatre Company, they stop seeing themselves as a person with or without a disability. They simply become just actors working together."

03-09-2007 Celebrities Push The Envelope with Pitney Bowes On Behalf of the National Literacy Trust: Bill Nighy and a host of other celebrities have been using their creativity to design envelopes and raise money for the National Literacy Trust in the fourth Pitney Bowes ‘Pushing The Envelope’ charity auction.

The campaign sees some of Britain’s favourite actors, writers, illustrators, musicians and sportspeople put pen to envelope in aid of the independent charity dedicated to improving the literacy of the nation.

The envelopes will be auctioned on eBay starting 9th October at 11am and running for 10 days.  All funds raised will be donated to the National Literacy Trust.  Last year, ‘Pushing The Envelope’ raised over £5,000 for the charity and this year sponsors Pitney Bowes hope to exceed this amount.  With more celebrities committed to the cause and further entries yet to be submitted, more than 50 designs are anticipated to be available in total.

27-08-2007 Yesterday's Teen Choice Awards presented by Fox Broadcasting saw Bill Nighy as the winner of 2007's best movie villain surfboard award for his role as Davy Jones in ''Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End''. 20-08-2007 On the set of Bill's new film project ''Valkyrie'' in Berlin, Germany, 11 film extras got injured, one of them seriously. Bill's new film project has already been discussed in the media for a while: ''Valkyrie'', a film about the real story of Claus von Stauffenberg (Portrayed by Tom Cruise), the man who tried to assassinate Hitler. Bill Nighy will be General Friedrich Olbricht, one of the persons involved in the attempt. 24-04-2007 It's now confirmed that Bill Nighy will be attending the world premiere of Disney's ''Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End'', May 19th, at Disneyland, California.

From Bill Nighy's publicist, Ciara Parkes from Public Eye, also comes the official information that Bill will NOT be a guest of the London Film and Comic Convention in September, despite announcements in several forums. 

As The Independent is reporting today, Bill has accepted a part in the 2008 movie version of ''State Of Play'', starring also Brad Pitt.
