Edit:

Other voice talents are Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Andy Serkis, Jean Reno and Ian McKellen. Oh, and don't forget to prod the snail.

20-07-2006 Among a bunch of news there is something about Bill on The Independent. Read about not method acting and Alicia Silverstone having a crush.

Business news site mad.co.uk is reporting a new series of TV commercials for Yorkshire tea. Bill will be narrating them, so prepare to use the strapline “Yorkshire Tea. Try it. You’ll see” in real life.

 Best

Robin

Tucson Weekly has a review on ''Pirates'' with some very positive Bill mentions. (Olando Bloom fans, better don't read this one)

12-07-2006 Winnipeg Sun is offering an interview with Bill. Not much new in it, apart from the hope of lots of Davy Jones in the third part of the ''Pirates'' installment.

10-07-2006 By the way: ''Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'' broke the box office record of Spicer-Man during the first weekend. Congratulations, Bill, for being in such a top blockbuster.

And sad news for Chinese fans. ''Pirates'' has been banned in China. More.

09-07-2006 The Star online is writing - as every magazine these days about ''Pirates Of the Caribbean''. But unlike all the others they don't put Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley into centre, but our man - Bill Nighy - and the great Tom Hollander (in addition with the proof why it's dangerous to make faces in front of cameras).

Interview in ''The Scotsman''

07-07-2006 Today's choice of Pirates reviews (out of hundreds and hundreds and ... You get the picture):

bullet

To The Daily Record Bill spoke about how the idea of Davy Jones' Scottish accent was born.

bullet

An interview with Bill on Detroit Free Press.

bullet

Some quotes from Bill on VOA News.

bullet

Good review on blogcritics.

bullet

Short review with surprisingly much Bill mention on Biloxi Sun Herald.

bullet

A good review by Bruce Westbrook, a devoted fan of Bill Nighy, on chron.com.

There's life outside the Carribean:

If You are in California around July 28th, don't miss ''Still Crazy'' at the Santa Monica Mods & Rockers Festival 2006. Bill Nighy plans to be there for a screening. More infos at the Los Angeles Times and at the festival's site.

Seven Emmy nominations for ''the Girl In the Cafe''! Alas no nomination for Bill himself, which is a shame, but one for Kelly MacDonald as best supporting actress. (supporting?) The awards take place on August 27th in los Angeles. See all nominations here.

06-07-2006 Today's Pirates reviews come from:

Fort Worth Weekly, Milford Daily News, Bloom and Knightley talk about working with Bill in Future Movies, Gore Verbinski about Bill and the CGI on CanMag, and a very good article with lots of Bill quotes and how he freaked out his beloved ones comes from MTV.com.

And a funny little bit at the end: Bill's sympathy for squid on PR-inside.

05-07-2006 Once more I ransacked through oodles of reviews on ''Pirates'' to find the relevant ones for You. Here's the outcome:

Whittier Daily News and Mercury News have some reviews with ineresting good remarks on Bill.

The Sidney Morning Herald's author feels cheated that comic (???) actor Bill Nighy is unrecognizable. Well, she should feel cheated by the fact that she's obviously only knowing one other film out of Bill's rich filmography. Miss Hall, please feel invited to watch loads of non-comic films containing Bill Nighy. This man is way more than only a face.

At last USA Today finally is putting Bill himself in the centre and is talking about a choice of his films.

And, last but surely not least: comingsoon.net has an exclusive interview with Bill on offer.

04-07-2006 Premiere photos, photos, photos at wireimage (type in ''Nighy'' ), Filmmagic and Getty Images - some together with Diana Quick, who was accompanying him.

BBC News was among the first to report from the London premiere and they do quote Bill near the end.

The Sun offers a Quicktime movie about the London premiere. You can watch or download it from here and watch it if You've got the right Quicktime version or iTunes.

Empire has a report and some very good photos on the plate.

"I don't know why, when they were looking for a half-squid, half-crab man my name came to mind. I'm going to choose to take it as a compliment otherwise I would have to kill myself." (Bill Nighy at the premiere of ''Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'')

03-07-2006 Update 20:32: First image of Bill's arriving at Getty Images.

03-07-2006 At the moment London's Odeon at Leicester Square is hosting the European premiere for ''Pirates Of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'', with our man, Bill Nighy, among the guests.

The Daily Mail has an OK ''Pirates'' review today, and I'd like to share one amusing quote with You:

''My only gripe here is that Nighy is very good at sneering, but because his face is covered in the independently moving tentacles you don't get the spectacle and Nighy in full sneer mode.''

A medium review does come from Variety.com, but even they see Bill's performance shine a little above the rest: ''Best of all is Davy himself, whose remarkable visage is festooned with a beard of moving octopus tentacles and whose strength as a singular villain is heightened by Nighy's wily performance.''

Here is what comingsoon.net is saying: ''... it's hard not to be fascinated by Bill Nighy's Davy Jones, an amazing achievement of CGI that allows Nighy's distinctive personality to shine through the bizarre amalgam of man and sea-creature.''

02-07-2006 The Long Beach Press telegram stands for lots of online magazines offering an interesting article (Really interesting... ''Piercing, beady eyes''???) on covering Bill CGI-technically. When You've read it You'll find out what an achievement it is to still recognize Bill behind all of that. Bravo, Bill!

The Boston Globe has an article about director Gore Verbinski. On page 2 You'll find some paragraphs about Bill, and some remarks from our man.

30-06-2006 Peter Howell from the Toronto Star did a good interview with Bill Nighy. Bill's talking about looking like Devo's Dad (hands up who remembers Devo?), being a character actor and the tragic side of Davy Jones.

29-06-2006 Movieweb has a clip from ''Pirates Of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'' on offer. Choose the one that shows a picture of Davy Jones. Oh, and... Try to get used to the noises Davy's making. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Not exactly Bill news, but worth mentioning for sure: Richard Curtis has won the HUMANITAS prize that honours work which serves to "liberate, enrich and unify society yesterday in Los Angeles for ''The Girl In the Cafe''. That film was made accompanying the ''Make Poverty History'' campaign around the G8 summit in 2005 (and is - as we know - known as one of Bill's best performances to date.

28-06-2006 Support Robin's Peru Trek! Bill Nighy is amongst the celeb supporters of the brave undertaking of Robin Miller to trek Peru to raise money for Cancer Research UK. You can help, too. Find the details on Robin's webjournal. More to come. (found via ICRenfrewshire.co.uk)

The Rolling Stone did a very good review of ''Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'' with some mentionable words about Bill's performance. Since this is not the first praise - Looks like the critics already have found their favourite villain of this summer.

25-06-2006 Disneyland, Anaheim saw the premiere of ''Pirates Of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'' yesterday 24-06-2006, and there's of course a lot of footage, alas mostly Depp-centered. Bill arrived around 8p.m. local time. "It's a nice feeling. It's a nice vibe," he said to the Orange County Register. "They dig the movie and there's a warm feeling for it." Here's what to know:

Filmforce at IGN.com has interviewed Bill Nighy, Johnny Depp and others about their work on the film. Find excerpts here.

Wireimage (type in ''Nighy'') and Getty Images

AND: msn.com did a live webcast of the prermiere. About 30 minutes into the report Bill is appearing, and the MSN lady is doing a 2 minutes interview with him! Watch the recording here.

BTW: As E! Online is reporting, Bill is lending his voice to Disneyworld's Pirates Of The Caribbean ride. So if You happen to be in Anaheim, don't miss it.

''Moriarty'' did a review on ''Pirates Of the Caribbean'' on aintitcool.com. When You scroll about halfway down, You'll find some fine remarks on Bill'sperformance as Davy Jones.

23-06-2006 The Telegraph's Cassandra Jardine is one of those journalists having the talent of making actors give insight. Today You can find an interview of her with our man. Bill's talking about jumping up and down on hotel beds, bringing home hotel soap bars, Christmas singing, pirates, junior spies... and life. A fantastic interview - find it at The Daily Telegraph's website.
