19-12-2004 ☼ Starting 19-01-2005, Bill Nighy will be on BBC Radio 4 from 11:30 -12:00 a.m., being part of a six-part series of 'No Commitments'.  Bill plays the part of Roger.

 

02-12-2004 ☼ Bill Nighy will appear accoustically in the animated film "Flushed Away", along with the voice talents of Sir Ian McKellen and Kate Winslet. The film from the pens of the "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" and "Still Crazy" writers Dick Clement and Ian Le Frenais is due for release 23-06-06.

 

02-12-2004 ☼ Sad news: The film "The Assumption" starring Bill Nighy and Judi Dench will not be produced due to lack of budget.

 

22-11-2004 ☼ TV station BBC2's "See Hear" (a show for deaf and hard-hearing viewers) did a short feature on forthcoming radio play "All Fingers And Thumbs"  by Alan Stafford this week, presented by deaf actress Fifi Garfield (who will be in the play), featuring extracts of the play and brief interviews with Bill Nighy & Susannah Doyle. Catch the repeat Wednesday 24th November at 1.05 am, on BBC1.

12-11-2004 ☼ The Liverpool Everyman Theatre turns 40 years these days. Bill, who started his career on this very stage, will appear at the gala on November 21st, along with illustrous names like Julie Walters or Anthony Sher. Tickets on sale from Nov. 15th. Details... 12-11-2004 ☼ Writer David Hare appeared at the National Theatre Platform in London on November 5th, joined by Bill Nighy, who acted in lots of Hare's plays (A Map Of the World, Skylight). Bill appeared in a snippet of Hare's new drama "Plenty". Read more...

 

07-11-2004 ☼ November 3rd saw the birth of a partnership between National Society for Epilepsy (NSE) and easyJet, which was launched by Bill. The partnership is in order to raise funds for the NSE's research programme with an online click-and-give campaign. The NSE's concerns are very important for Bill, he's a supporter of the organization since "The Lost Prince".

          Bill said: “The NSE is at the cutting edge of research into the causes and treatment of epilepsy – working towards a goal of seizure freedom for all. This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for NSE to make people more aware of the important work they do.”  

06-11-2004 ☼ There's life for the undead. The rumours seem to be true, as Bill Nighy now mentioned in an interview, that his character, the ancient vampire Victor will appear again in the conclusion of "Underworld". Apparently the story will concentrate on the history of Selene and Viktor.  

02-11-2004 ☼ Bill was interviewed on radio station Xfm. On telephone from Edinburgh he talked about the new Poliakoff film, Hitchhiker's Guide, Enduring Love, teaching James Nesbitt drinking Scotch (or not). (inactive link)

The ART 4 ALL foundation is doing an auction on 25-11-2004 at a gala evening and invites artists and celebrities to paint a canvas and in the process raise funds for our children and young adults with learning disabilities. Mark Dec. 29th on your calendar. Bill will be doing another radio play for BBC 4. The title will be "All Fingers and Thumbs" by Alan Stafford.   Broadcasting will take place at 2.15 p.m. Check out the filmography site, chapter "radio work" for details.

13-10-2004 ☼ Directors David Yates and Richard Curtis (Love Actually) are working on a drama for TV station BBC1 called "The Girl in the Cafe", starring Bill Nighy. Bill will be playing a minister who falls in love with a strange girl and takes her to a G8 conference. Alas, there are no further informations right now.

09-10-2004 ☼ Tuesday, 30th November 2004 at 7pm a charity christmas concert will take place at the London St. Paul's Church. The funds raised will go for the benefit of the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) and the Loddon School for children with autism. Bill Nighy and his wife Diana Quick will do some Christmas readings during the concert. Read more and book your tickets on MHF's homepage.
